PREPARE FOR BATTLE!
Port City BRAWL is a premium single day Premodern Magic The Gathering event and not just a single tournament. This event is presented by the Wilmington Premodern Crew and hosted by Trade Binder at Aloft at Coastline Convention Center here in Wilmington, NC.
The all day event revolves around the one day main event known as BRAWL which is a Premodern tournament consisting of 7 rounds of Swiss with a cut to top 8 with a 128 player cap. The main event is run at REL with a Judge. The event is NO PROXY, GOLD border friendly event.
In addition to the above mentioned main event there are FREE side events throughout the day that are included in with the main event entry fee.
There will two planned draft events this day that are NOT included in the event entry. These draft events are 8 player, single elimination, 3 rounds. Entry to draft events are $100 and and prize support of 3-2-1-1 with packs from the sets were will be drafting which are Invasion, Apocalypse & Judgement.
We will also be holding out now legendary charity raffle that benefits Nourish NC a local food bank here in Wilmington, NC that focuses on feeding food insecure children.
This year's featured artist will be Mark Poole and Tom Fleming.
Premodern is a community-created constructed format consisting of the sets from Fourth Edition to Scourge. The card pool thus roughly spans the period in between the formats 93/94 and Modern. For more detail on Rules, Legal Sets, and the Ban List, please visit Premodern Magic.

Main event entry fee is $100 - Full Prize Support for Top 16.

What does your $100 entry include?
Each participant will receive (2) Food Tickets & (3) Beverage Tickets, (1) Raffle Ticket to the Charity Raffle, Unlimited Entry to the free side events firing all day in the event you drop or do place in the top 16.
I do not like the prize support, why is the entry not going 100% to the prize support?
Glad you asked. We have to pay for the space, pay for the prize support, pay the judges, and pay the event staff. It is not cheap to have a large clean space you can run an event like this.
If you do not like the entry price or the prize support this may simply not be the event for you. There are lots of events all over the country with various levels of prize support and cost you should check out!
Who benefits from the charity raffle?
All sales of raffle tickets will go to Nourish NC - helping feed children in the Cape Fear area. https://nourishnc.org/
What is being raffled in the charity raffle?
What isn't being raffled? We have premodern playmats, premodern sealed product, premodern staples, signed cards and artist proofs! These itmes have neen donated by The Rush Family and several other Magic artist, vendors and the Wilmington Pre Modern Crew. There is omething for everyone!
Can I purchase more raffle tickets?
Yes you can. Raffle tickets will be $20 per ticket or (6) tickets for $100. You can make donations directly to Nourish NC at the event or at the Trade Binder booth in person.
Is this a proxy friendly event?
No the main event is NOT proxy friendly. However gold border World Championship Decks, International and Collector Edition cards are welcome.
Are the free side events proxy friendly?
Yes, you may play proxy cards in the side events if you wish.
Can I come and play some causal games without paying entry?
Yes anyone is welcome to spectate, come and meet the artist and play some causal games. However table space is alloted as priroty for the draft, side and main event.
